BIO

Giovanni Battista Vacchi is currently Partner and Head of Italian Corporate Financial Strategy at Ernst & Young. He possesses a Master of Economics, with a thesis in Corporate Finance, at the University of Bologna (1993) and a Master of Business Administration, focused on Strategy and Finance, at Dartmouth College, Hanover (USA). From 1996 to 1998 he was a consultant for Bain & Company in Boston and later on a Senior Associate in Private Equity Principal Investing with The Carlyle Group (Carlyle Europe Partners L.P.). From 2001 to 2009 he operated as a worldwide leader in the production of luxury motor yachts for the Ferretti Group. In 2009 he founded G.B.V. & Partners where he is also Managing Director and from 2010 and on he is Chief of Sales and Marketing Officer at Citylife, in Milan. More recently he is a Member of the Board for Yonderbound and in December 2014 he took up the reigns as CEO of  Zucchi Group. He is a C-level executive with 19+ years of experience of an effective mix of business and management skills developed through “hands on” experience in senior level management positions in world leading manufacturing organizations. He has extensive international experience, in both business growth, restructuring (cost cutting, right-sizing, working capital management, leadership, etc.) and in highly affluent customers management.

COURSES

The objective of this course is to analyze the main trends in innovation and production of luxury vehicles by discussing with industry experts and visiting production and research sites. Vehicles are usually classified broadly by what is used to apply steering and drive forces against the ground of the water: wheeled, tracked, railed, skied; in fact we apply a different segmentation, according to customer experience and needs, thus we analyze the characteristics of luxury vehicles as a blend of technical content and hedonic experiences.



The objective of this seminar is to provide a general understanding of what general management consulting is and the skills it requires. Students will be exposed to the main consulting frameworks and methods;  consulting project activities and situations using business cases; and meet practicing consulting professionals from a variety of firms. As an integral part of the course they will also learn the basic tool required to organize and develop a business plan.
